I worked and loved the skincare/ beauty industry for a very long time, up until I started to have my kids I was a major fan (still am in a different way). It was after my second pregnancy I ran into some major health issues that had me looking into everything that I put in and on my body. The autoimmune disease I ended up with was a result of an allergy I had to an antibiotic they gave me after birthing my twin babies. It was at that moment in time I had to look into everything to heal my insides! I became hyper-aware of what I put on my skin which had me thinking about putting together my own set of ingredients, at first out of desperation because there was nothing around like it 20yrs ago and later as a passion.
I felt like I wanted to keep it as wholesome as possible and only add in the ingredients that would deliver the vitamins and minerals my body needed - inspired by how I was healing my insides I wanted to treat my outside body the same - we take nutritional supplements to feel optimised why wouldn’t I do that with my skincare routine. I learnt that you can get vitamins A,B,C,D,E & K from a lot of cold pressed oils not to mention aloe vera seemed to stand out to me as a star! Essential oils were also key as, I believe, they have powerful effects on the mind, body & soul. Options are endless when you not only have cold pressed oils and aloe vera on hand but add in some humectants that are bursting with moisture and essential oils to boost your mood - all of a sudden Necteur Skin had come to life.
My healing journey never ends, I constantly learn things every week about the facinating body we have been gifted, and if given the right environment it will thrive!!
